MEET OUR STAFF
William Burd
President
Bill, born in upstate New York during the Great War, migrated to the Chicago area in the early 1970's. He has five children and three grand children.
In 1979 he started working full time for a local coin dealer and remained with that organization for 16 years. In 1995 he purchased Daru Coin & Stamp from retiring coin dealers Don & Ann Urchel and later changed the name to Chicago Coin Company, Inc. He is a member of the Professional Numismatist Guild, Numismatic Literary Guild, Numismatic Bibliomania Society and Central States Numismatic Society. He is also a life member of the American Numismatic Society, American Numismatic Association and Chicago Coin Club as well as, a board member for ILNA and the archivist for the Chicago Coin Club.
Bill collects books relating to Numismatics. His library consists of over 2200 titles covering such subjects as US coins, ancient coins, currency, medals, banking & finance and exonumia. He has had several articles published in numismatic publications and has contributed to several books.
His other hobby is hiking and mountain climbing. He has been on mountains in every continent including Antarctica and in 2002 ski-walked the last degree to the North Pole. Click here to see photos of Bill's adventures.
Glen DeCosta
Numismatist
Glen grew up in New Jersey and moved to the Chicago area as a teenager. He attended The University of Illinois at Chicago and graduated with a bachelors degree in Economics.
Glen began working for Chicago Coin Company, Inc. in September of 2003. He is a member of the Chicago Coin Club, Civil War Token Society and the So-Called Dollar Club. He is also a life member of the American Numismatic Association and ILNA.
Glen is married to our Operations Manager, Katie and they have a 4 year old Boston Terrier named Bubba. He is also a proud uncle and godfather.
In his spare time he likes to golf, play poker with friends and watch sports. He also appreciates a fine wine and a well aged Scotch.
Gerry Jankuski
Finance Manager
Gerry started with Chicago Coin Company, Inc. in 1995. As Finance Manager she takes care of all accounting matters including, but not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, monthly accounting reports, state and government quarterly reports and end of the year reports.
Gerry loves numbers! Give her an accounting problem and she'll solve it!
She is very devoted to family and friends. She's an extremely proud mom and nana and has recently been blessed with her first granddaughter. She is also a Great Aunt of three beautiful children.
Gerry is very dedicated to working out and good nutrition. It's a very important part of her life. She also enjoys music, cake decorating, bowling and biking. Every year she tries to do "Friends of the Park" late night ride which is a 22 mile bicycle ride by the lakefront in Chicago dedicated to the protection and preservation of Chicago parks.
Katie DeCosta

Operations Manager
Katie joined the Chicago Coin Company team in 1995. Her interest in numismatics began while she was remodeling the store, giving it a fresh coat of paint and some nice new touches. She continued to work here while learning the business.
Katie now heads our shipping department doing all of the daily shipping and receiving. She also designs and updates our website. She is a member of the American Numismatic Association, Chicago Coin Club and Central States Numismatic Society.
Katie is married to our Numismatist, Glen and they have a 4 year old Boston Terrier named Bubba. She also has three wonderful nephews.
Katie loves to bake and has a collection of stuffed animals that exceeds 1100 pieces. She is a huge country music fan and has attended over 50 concerts.

Penny & Nickel are our male and female Cockatiels who joined our team in January of 2005.
Hermie the Turtle has five fish friends who share his tank and they have all been here for over 8 years.
